In 2000, a vicious hailstorm in our blueberry plantations was very definitely a black cloud with a silver lining. At the time, we relied on our supermarket customers for 100% of our business and the hailstorm had damaged 60% of our crop. Instead of letting the damaged fruit drop to the ground, we harvested it and began making products from it. That first summer, Julia Trehane made 6000 blueberry muffins, which were sold at the very first 'farmers markets' to be held in the UK. Hot on their heels, our blueberry muffins were joined by blueberry jam, and blueberry pies. We quickly realised that our products were a success and should become an integral part of the business. Now, our range has grown and we attend shows around the country, farmers markets in Hampshire and we are now able to mail order some of our products here on our website. Enjoy!
